What determines paint preparation and my quote?
Mainly the condition of your paint. Before quoting, we look at swirls, light scratches, oxidation, water spots, and bonded contamination, along with the correction your paint needs and the coating option you are considering. A coating goes on over whatever is underneath it, so paint that needs correction takes more preparation than paint that is already in good shape. We confirm the scope once we see the vehicle.
Does ceramic coating replace paint protection film (PPF)?
No. A ceramic coating is a thin layer and does not stop rock chips, deep scratches, or impact damage. Paint protection film is a physical urethane film applied to the areas that take the most impacts, such as the hood, bumper, and mirrors. Do I still need to wash a coated car?
Yes. A coating makes washing easier, but it does not replace it.
